The Journey Begins

May 31, 2009

Today begins a new journey for Debbie and me. Once Deb finishes her last desk shift at 2 p.m., all duties here will be complete and we'll be heading down the road tomorrow in our 32 foot Pace Arrow motor home. We will be traveling and living in the motor home for the indefinite future. We have no other plan than to go where we want, when we want, while visiting family along the way. It feels good to embark on a true spirit adventure again.

After months of planning, sorting, packing, giving things away and saying goodbye to friends and co-workers we are more than ready to make the transition. It is time. Working and living at the Rooftop has been interesting and informative, but living in the resort you manage takes a heavy toll. You never get away from work. Right now we both just need the time and space to relax and decompress from our experiences. I'll be writing more about the resort later. For now let's just say our time at the RT has been surreal.

I'll write posts here as often as possible. Frequency will depend upon access to wireless connections. We want to share with you details about the places we stay, the people we meet and what life is like living in a motor home. Because we are both major foodies and fusion chefs, there will also be descriptions of unique foods we find along the way. Deb will also be contributing photos when available.

We hope you join us on this journey and leave comments about the posts. This promises to be a very interesting ride.

  2. Free at last! We always wondered if Lane and Debbie had a life beyond the RT. As a married couple, hubby 60s, wifey 50s, we used to get away from our stuffy friends and mellow out at the RT. We are not swingers, but we managed to relax there and be ourselves. Where are you docking up that dream vehicle to start? We live in the Fort Lauderdale area, but travel at will. More important, be free and enjoy life while you can. Bon Voyage and keep us posted.
